A short film shot around South Uist and Benbecula of Outer Hebrides islands. Featuring this Bolex cinema camera, 2 rolls of 16mm Kodak Vision 50D film, and lots of wind.

Bolex is an amazing piece of Swiss engineering, fully mechanical camera that you wind up like a clock, which gives you about 20 seconds of filming time. You might think this is a limitation, but the whole roll of 100ft film will give you about 3 mins total. And that film is not cheap. This totally makes you think twice about each shot. Watch the full 3 mins and 41 seconds of this short meditative documentary here. There is 4K resolution too, since that's what the film was scanned and edited at.

If I learned anything from the shoot, it would be to watch out for that long telephoto lens on the turret, when filming with the wide lens. After this shoot I also got a super wide lens, and things became even more apparent.

Enjoy the film!
