Isle of Arran and Lomo Metropolis - Darkroom Diaries - April 2026

I've got couple of rolls of Kodak Ektar film, Kodak Gold, and a roll of experimental Lomo Metropolis film in medium format.

Lomo Metropolis look is advertised as being mostly on a blue / cool side, which made me curious what it would look like when printed in a darkroom.

First proof came out as a heavy sepia. This is at neutral color settings, with 2 sec diagonal increments for exposure proofing.

With some heavy reduction in magenta and yellow, here's a more green / neutral proof. This is more like it.

Rocks from Glen Etiv, as printed from Lomo Metropolis.

More contact prints - from Perthshire, and also a lot of these shots are from the Isle of Arran.

Mamiya RB67 camera and a massive 360mm telephoto lens on the Isle of Arran.

Mamiya RB67 camera and Kodak Gold film.

And a final picture from Perthshire forests. Mamiya RB67 camera, Kodak Ektar film and lots of proofs to get to this final picture.

As usual, if you 'd like any of the prints, get in touch via hello@alba.pictures and we'll figure something out!
