Dumfries and Torronsuo - Darkroom Diaries

I'm gradually developing and printing film from our trip to Finland, as well as winter hikes around Dumfries and Galloway. All prints are from color film, and mostly Kodak Ektar, with occasional Kodak Gold roll. Shot on Hasselblad 500CM camera. Printed at Stills Darkroom in Edinburgh.

Contact prints are very helpful even when scans are available. Somehow Kodak Ektar prints very differently from what I'm getting with digital scans - it looks miles better when printed.

Prices for Fuji darkroom paper are also getting more expensive, but at this point I'm grateful it is simply available.

Glencoe road trip with Ballachulish bridge shots at sunset.

With some rolls it's either some shots are properly exposed, or the others, but never all.

Darkroom vs color. Half of the time in the darkroom you operate with red light, and the other half in complete darkness, since red is also a color.

Frosty test prints.

A shot from Tampere Pispala with a quickly changing light at sunset, and a red tower in the background.

A sneak peek - a roll of Kodak EIR slide infrared film got developed, and even got some pictures on it. Stay tuned for more!
